Mr. Gomez joined the Division of Banking of the Illinois Department of Financial and Profession Regulation in July 2011. As Manager of Bank and Thrift Supervision – Chicago, he is responsible for the supervision, regulation, and examination of state chartered banks and thrifts serving the Chicago metropolitan area.
A banker with 25 years of experience in the industry, Mr. Gomez has served as an officer and director at several banks. Most recently, he acted as a consultant for the U.S. Department of Commerce as a Financial Expert consulting on banks and capital development. He also served on the board of the Illinois Finance Authority under Illinois Governor James R. Thompson and Governor Jim Edgar. He provided service to the Carter administration relating to personnel staffing and governmental appointments. Mr. Gomez received a Bachelors degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois. |
