The Illinois Division of Insurance (DOI) has initiated the implementation of new legislation which affects the way medical liability insurance is regulated in Illinois. Public Act 94-0677 (Act) became law on August 25, 2005. The Act adds a new subsection (C-5) to Section 1204 of the Illinois Insurance Code [215 ILCS 5/1204]. The Act requires specific actuarial information to be filed with the DOI. The DOI has begun collecting the data required to implement Section 1204(C-5).
