SPRINGFIELD, IL. -- Illinois Acting Director of Insurance Deirdre K. Manna has revoked the public adjuster license of Henry Gritz of Paramus, New Jersey effective May 11, 2004. A Public Adjuster license allows a person to represent an insured with an insurer for compensation, and while representing that insured either negotiating values, damages, or depreciation, or applying the loss circumstances to insurance policy provisions.
The license of Mr. Gritz was revoked by Director's Order from Hearing #4128. The hearing was held regarding the Department's Order of Revocation dated December 3, 2003. The Order of Revocation was issued as a result of an investigation revealing Mr. Gritz had been convicted of a felony in 1999 (Conspiracy to Commit Mail Fraud), failed to reveal the felony conviction on his application for a license, and was denied a public adjuster license in another state (New York).
Under the Illinois Administrative Review Law he may have the right to appeal
and request a stay of the Order. A copy of the Director's
Order is attached.
