Mount Vernon Insurance Agent's License Revoked

SPRINGFIELD, IL. -- Illinois Insurance Director Michael T. McRaith has revoked the insurance producer license of Robert T. Tierney of Mount Vernon, Illinois effective April 25, 2005. Mr. Tierney had been licensed since September 21, 1999.

Mr. Tierney was licensed to sell life, accident, health, fire, and casualty insurance. The license of Mr. Tierney was revoked by Director's Order from Hearing #04-HR-1134. The hearing was held regarding the Department's Order of Revocation dated October 29, 2004. The Order of Revocation was issued as a result of an investigation revealing Mr. Tierney had misrepresented the terms of an insurance policy by providing the insured a fraudulent policy and a fraudulently written letter, been convicted of a felony (Aggravated Driving Under the Influence in 2004), and failed to report the felony conviction within 30 days of the judgment.

Under the Illinois Administrative Review Law he may have the right to appeal and request a stay of the Order. A copy of the Director's Order is attached.
