| | The Marriage and Family Therapy Licensing Act was signed into law in 1991. Marriage and |
| | family therapy refers to the evaluation and treatment of mental and emotional problems |
| | within the context of human relationships. The Board is appointed by the Secretary and is |
| | made up of five licensed practitioners and two public members. The Board is charged with |
| | providing expert knowledge and advice on disciplinary matters and professional |
| | performance and conduct. |
