Department Suspends License of Chicago-area R.N.

CHICAGO, IL–The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation suspended the license of Marceline T. Abril, Jr., R.N. In the order signed by Daniel E. Bluthardt, Acting Director of the Division of Professional Regulation, Abril’s license was suspended after the Department verified the facts of his arrest and subsequent indictment for five felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Naperville late last year. At the time of his arrest, Abril had been working as a nurse at the Garden View Nursing Home in Chicago

The Department, having learned of the incident through news reports, undertook a complete investigation into the facts of the case. By the action taken last week, Abril’s license is immediately suspended. A hearing on this matter will be scheduled before the Administrative Law Judge at the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and the Nursing Disciplinary Board of the State of Illinois.
