Regular Part 937 Continues in the Rulemaking Process,
Emergency Part 937 Suspended by JCAR

On July 27, 2007, the Secretary of State published in the Illinois Register two rules which would require companies writing accident and health coverage to file supplemental quarterly reports and a supplemental annual report detailing premium, loss, and enrollment data – Emergency Part 937 and Regular Part 937. It was pursuant to Emergency Part 937 that companies were to file a first quarterly report no later than September 30, 2007.

On September 18, 2007, the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (“JCAR”) suspended (i.e., made ineffective) Emergency Part 937. Regular Part 937, however, continues to be developed through the rulemaking process. Please continue to visit our website for additional information and continue to monitor this rulemaking process.
