Governor Pat Quinn Proclaims March 1-8, 2014
Get Covered Illinois Week”

SPRINGFIELD – Get Covered Illinois (GCI) is the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace for Illinois residents. GCI team members are available to help residents take the first step to find affordable health coverage. Illinois consumers should explore www.getcoveredillinois.gov today, whether they are currently uninsured, are actively looking to make a change in their healthcare plan, or just want to learn more about their options.  All marketplace plans include essential health benefits –prescription drug coverage, preventive screenings and regular and emergency care.  There are affordable options available to fit every budget.

“We want to make sure that every Illinois family has access to high quality, affordable health care,” said Manuel Flores, Acting Secretary of Financial and Professional Regulation. “While checking on coverage options, visiting IDFPR.com’s Physician Profile allows families to check on the qualifications and experience of the doctors in each available user network.

Finally, specially trained counselors (called Navigators) are available for free across the state to help Illinois consumers explore and understand their options.  Choosing the right coverage is an important and complicated decision and Illinoisans should that know there is help available to assist them through the process. The deadline to enroll is March 31st, 2014, so please tell your friends, family, clients and colleagues to enroll today at www.getcoveredillinois.gov or call 1-866-311-1119.
