| | Funeral Directors and Embalmers Licensing and Disciplinary Board |
| | Funeral directors and embalmers were brought into the scope of the Agency's regulatory arm in 1919. |
| | Funeral directors and embalmers were originally licensed separately. In 1991, the licenses were |
| | combined. Those individuals licensed separately prior to 1991 may still renew those licenses. New |
| | licenses issued, however, must be as a funeral director and embalmer. The practice of funeral directing |
| | and embalming means the practice of preparing for the burial, cremation or disposal, and directing and |
| | supervising the burial or disposal of deceased human remains, or performing any act or service in |
| | connection with the preparing of dead human bodies. The Board is made up of seven members appointed |
| | by the Secretary, consisting of six licensed funeral directors and embalmers, and one public member. |
