Board of Interior Design Professionals

The Interior Design Professional Title Act became effective July 6, 1993. Interior design refers to persons

qualified by education, experience and examination who administer contracts for fabrication, procurement

or installation in the implementation of designs, drawings and specifications for any interior design

project. The Board is made up of seven persons appointed by the Secretary, consisting of four registered

interior designers, two registered residential interior designers and one public member. The Board is

charged with reviewing education and experience qualifications and making recommendations to the

Secretary on matters related to professional competence and conduct.
